The much-anticipated OTT release of Dhanush’s directorial ‘Idli Kadai’ is here. Following its theatrical debut on October 1st, the film is now available for streaming on Netflix, starting October 29th. Viewers across India and beyond can access ‘Idli Kadai’ in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Headlining the cast and also serving as writer and director is Dhanush himself. He is joined by an impressive roster of actors including Arun Vijay, Shalini Pandey, Raj Kiran, Sathyaraj, Parthiban, Samuthirakani, and Nithya Menen. The film is a collaborative effort between Dawn Pictures and Wunderbar Films.
‘Idli Kadai’ tells the poignant story of Murugan, a young man eager to escape the confines of his village and achieve his dreams in the city. He leaves his parents and their traditional idli eatery, only to be drawn back by unforeseen circumstances. This homecoming reignites his connection to his heritage and sparks an unexpected transformation. The Telugu version, ‘Idli Kottu,’ had a mixed box office performance, impacted by strong competition. The film ultimately grossed Rs 50.39 crore in total, with an initial collection of Rs 11 crore.
