A video clip surfacing from Meerut has ignited a debate, purporting to show BJP leader Vikul Chaprana involved in a public altercation. The footage depicts Chaprana and associates confronting two men, with accusations of intimidation and vehicle damage, including forcing one victim, Satyam Rastogi, to engage in a humiliating act. The video quickly went viral, drawing criticism from political opponents who pointed to it as evidence of alleged arrogance and misuse of power.
Local residents, however, are presenting a counter-narrative to the viral claims. Several shopkeepers who witnessed the event stated that Satyam Rastogi, who appeared to be drunk, was the instigator. Their accounts suggest Rastogi began the confrontation by verbally abusing Chaprana and making threats regarding vehicle movement, before allegedly punching the BJP leader’s car, which precipitated the escalating situation.
Meerut police have confirmed the incident occurred on the night of October 19 in the Tejgarhi area. Initial police findings suggest the dispute was related to parking issues. The police are continuing their investigation after a complaint was filed by Aditya Rastogi, Satyam Rastogi’s brother.
