The entertainment industry continues to mourn the passing of veteran actor Pankaj Dheer, who lost his battle with cancer on October 15. In the aftermath of his father’s demise, actor Nikitin Dheer has shared a touching and somewhat veiled post, reflecting on the concept of releasing ‘pain’.
Nikitin took to his Instagram stories to post a deeply symbolic image of Goddess Kali’s feet. The accompanying text conveyed a powerful message of surrender and emotional release: “At her feet, I left my name, my pride, my pain, and she called me her own.” This poignant statement offers a window into Nikitin’s profound grief and his personal coping mechanisms as he navigates this difficult period following his father’s passing.
Pankaj Dheer was a significant personality in the Indian film and television circuit. His acting credits include well-known films such as ‘Sanam Bewafa’ and ‘Baadshah’, as well as the classic television series ‘Chandrakanta’ and the popular soap opera ‘Sasural Simar Ka’. He also explored directorial ventures with ‘My Father Godfather’ and was instrumental in nurturing new talent through his Abhinay Acting Academy.
Earlier, Nikitin had posted a philosophical message about accepting life’s flow, stating, “Whatever comes, Let it come. Whatever stays, Let it stay. Whatever goes, Let it go. As a Shiva Bhakt, say ‘Shivarpanam’ and move on! He’ll take care!” – very hard to do.” This sentiment highlights his preparedness, to some extent, for life’s unpredictable nature.
A prayer ceremony was held on October 17 to commemorate Pankaj Dheer’s life. The event was graced by several industry stalwarts, including Suresh Oberoi and Esha Deol. Nikitin and his wife, Kratika Sengar, were present, showing solidarity. Pankaj Dheer’s health had been declining for some time, and despite medical interventions, he eventually succumbed to the disease.
