Early morning commuters at Sirhind Station in Punjab witnessed a concerning event as a fire broke out on the Amritsar-Saharsa Garib Rath Express (Train No. 12204). The incident, which began around 7:30 AM, saw smoke billowing from a specific coach. Railway authorities responded with urgency, safely relocating passengers from the affected area to unaffected parts of the train. Firefighting units were dispatched and effectively doused the flames, ensuring the fire did not spread. Authorities have confirmed that the incident resulted in zero injuries. The reason behind the fire is currently under investigation. The train is scheduled to continue its journey to Saharsa following a comprehensive safety assessment.
