A para-teacher, identified as Jamaluddin Ansari, was seriously injured during a shooting incident in Naudiha village, Palamu, on Wednesday night. Following emergency treatment at MMC Hospital, he was subsequently referred to Ranchi for specialized medical care. His family chose to admit him to the private Medanta hospital in Ranchi on Thursday, deviating from the initial plan to take him to RIMS. Ansari is suffering from a lodged projectile in his lungs, with surgical intervention ongoing as of Thursday morning. Preliminary investigations point towards a land dispute as the likely motive, related to a long-standing disagreement over property sales. Ansari had reportedly alerted the police about this ongoing conflict. Authorities have taken some individuals into custody for questioning as part of their efforts to clarify the circumstances of the attack. The shooting occurred while Ansari was on his way home from his shop. He was attacked by two individuals who had apparently been lying in wait near a structure, firing shots that hit his right arm and abdomen. He first received medical attention at the Chhatarpur Sub-divisional Hospital, then briefly at MMC Hospital, before being moved to Ranchi due to the severity of his injuries. His daughter, who was outside their home at the time, witnessed the shooting and saw two people firing but could not identify them.
