A wave of optimism surrounds the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as the Bihar Assembly elections approach, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president confidently predicting a decisive victory, including a two-thirds majority. The anticipation builds for the two-phase polling on November 6 and November 11, culminating in the vote count on November 14 for the state’s 243 legislative seats.
The BJP leader also seized the opportunity to comment on the opposition Mahagathbandhan’s apparent lack of preparedness, specifically their delays in announcing candidates and finalizing seat-sharing deals. He highlighted the NDA’s proactive approach, emphasizing that internal discussions are complete, and candidate lists are being rolled out systematically. This organizational prowess, he suggested, is a key differentiator.
“All parties have discussed seat sharing and constituencies. After these discussions, each party is now announcing its candidates… We were the first to share information about our seat-sharing arrangements. We have announced our initial list of candidates, with more to follow soon… There is no problem anywhere. Currently, I am heading to the JDU office, where we will further discuss this matter… As of now, Mahagathbandhan has neither provided the correct figures about their seat sharing nor announced their candidates… NDA will win with a two-thirds majority,” he informed reporters, reinforcing the alliance’s strategic advantage.
The Janata Dal (United) (JDU), a cornerstone of the NDA, has begun announcing its candidates, with a list of 57 nominees for the first phase receiving approval from party chief Nitish Kumar. Among them is Minister Shravan Kumar for Nalanda. The BJP has also rolled out its initial list of 71 candidates. The NDA’s agreed-upon seat distribution plan includes 101 seats for both the BJP and JDU, 29 for the Lok Janshakti Party, and six seats each for the Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha, demonstrating a cohesive strategy for the Bihar elections.
