Amidst a defamation suit filed by former NCB official Sameer Wankhede against Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment concerning the series ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ actor Rajat Bedi, who stars in the show, has voiced his perspective. The series, marking Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, has faced legal challenges from Wankhede, who alleges the show negatively impacts the image of drug enforcement agencies and his personal reputation.
Bedi, speaking to ANI, articulated a balanced stance. He referred to Aryan Khan as “our kid” and recognized Wankhede’s position as a government representative. “The government is doing its job,” Bedi remarked, while also highlighting the challenging period Aryan Khan experienced. “He’s just growing up. Whatever happened, he’s gone through a tough phase,” Bedi added.
While limiting his public comments, Bedi conveyed that the situation was tough for Aryan Khan. “I think somewhere, he has gone through a little bit of hard things… and I think it shouldn’t have happened that way,” he stated. Wankhede’s defamation suit in the Delhi High Court accuses the series of being a “false, malicious, and defamatory video” that disseminates a misleading portrayal and aims to malign his reputation. The court has summoned Red Chillies Entertainment and others to respond to the allegations.
