Sarla Birla University (SBU) in Ranchi marked the beginning of the new academic year with an energetic and engaging Fresher’s Day celebration. The three-day event served as a fantastic platform for the university’s departments to welcome their incoming students with open arms and lively activities. Senior students took the lead in organizing a welcoming atmosphere, filled with music, dance, and interactive sessions. New students, dressed in their best, participated enthusiastically in a range of programs, including energetic dance performances and a memorable fashion show, all contributing to a joyous and spirited atmosphere. The event also featured the popular selection of Mr. and Ms. Fresher from various academic disciplines.
Professor Gopal Pathak, Director General at SBU, addressed the gathered students, highlighting the indispensable role of discipline in personal and academic achievement. He urged them to remain focused and disciplined in their pursuit of excellence.
Vice-Chancellor Professor C. Jagannathan reinforced the importance of extracurricular events like Fresher’s Day, noting their significant contribution to a student’s personal growth. He stressed that these events build essential life skills such as confidence, team spirit, and leadership acumen.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from SBU’s teaching staff. The Pro-Chancellor, Bijay Kumar Dalan, alongside Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Verma, shared their happiness over the successful Fresher’s Day and offered their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the new students joining the SBU family.
