In a significant breakthrough, Rajasthan Intelligence has arrested Mangat Singh, a 32-year-old man from Alwar, on charges of espionage for Pakistan’s ISI. Singh was allegedly honey-trapped by a Pakistani operative using the pseudonym ‘Isha Sharma,’ who used personal entanglement to solicit sensitive information. The arrest was made under the Official Secrets Act after a dedicated CID Intelligence investigation.
Singh’s suspicious conduct near Alwar’s cantonment area triggered an extensive surveillance operation. The probe uncovered his consistent communication with Pakistani intelligence handlers over the past two years via social media platforms. Reports indicate that Singh received financial inducements to pass on vital national security-related intelligence.
This operation, dubbed ‘Operation Sindoor,’ underscores Rajasthan Intelligence’s proactive stance against espionage in crucial areas. Alwar’s strategic position within the NCR makes it a focal point for intelligence agencies, and authorities are maintaining a heightened alert, particularly in and around military zones.
The case was officially registered in Jaipur, and Singh was apprehended by the CID Intelligence Unit. This arrest is a part of ongoing efforts to disrupt and dismantle foreign spy networks. It mirrors recent intelligence successes in the state, such as the arrests of Mahendra Prasad and Hanif Khan in Jaisalmer for leaking classified defense and army information to ISI operatives.
