A pivotal meeting of the BJP’s core group took place today at the residence of National President J.P. Nadda, marking a significant step in the party’s strategy for the Bihar Assembly elections. The summit, starting at 11 a.m., included Union Home Minister Amit Shah and essential members of the Bihar BJP leadership. This urgent deliberation follows the anticipated formal declaration of seat allocations among the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Patna. The central task for the BJP leaders gathered was to finalize the party’s candidate roster for its share of seats under the NDA agreement. The Bihar election committee has already submitted panels of potential candidates for consideration by the central leadership. Early indications suggest that the first list of BJP candidates could be released by October 13, possibly as a unified announcement for the entire NDA. In a display of alliance solidarity, key coalition partners are adopting a more accommodating tone. Chirag Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has signaled that an agreement is close, expressing his confidence in the Prime Minister. His party, not part of the NDA in the previous election, is now set to be accommodated. Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) President Jitan Ram Manjhi is also in negotiations for his party’s seat share. While his reported demand for 15 seats might be revised, sources close to the matter indicate that both Paswan and Manjhi are expected to agree to the final seat-sharing formula following discussions with top BJP officials. The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the results to be declared on November 14, 2025.
