An unsettling incident unfolded within the Supreme Court on Monday as an attempt was made to attack Chief Justice B.R. Gavai. A lawyer was involved in the incident, which included an attempt to throw a shoe towards the Chief Justice during a hearing. Security personnel successfully stopped the action.
As the lawyer was being removed from the courtroom, they shouted ‘We will not tolerate the insult of Sanatan’. CJI Gavai remained calm throughout the incident and instructed everyone to continue the ongoing proceedings.
