The Patna Metro is set to begin operations today, much to the excitement of Patna residents. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate the first phase of the metro service at 11 am today. The service will commence from the metro station near the Patliputra Bus Terminal depot, running from Bhootnath to New ISBT, marking the start of the initial phase.
The Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) has finished all the necessary preparations for the launch. The Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone for six underground metro stations including Patna Junction and a 9.35-kilometer tunnel as part of Corridor One. The metro coaches are adorned with Madhubani paintings, reflecting Bihar’s cultural legacy.
Every coach will feature stickers showcasing well-known sites of Bihar like Golghar, Mahavir Temple, Mahabodhi Tree, Buddha Stupa, and the ruins of Nalanda, placed on the gates, windows and inner parts.
