Tragedy struck Darjeeling as a landslide in Dilaram, along the Kurseong-Darjeeling road, has resulted in the death of at least seven people. Rescue teams are working tirelessly to locate two individuals who are still unaccounted for. The landslide has caused a significant disruption to transportation, with the Kurseong-Darjeeling road blocked and Rohini Road also closed. Pankhabari Road’s condition is concerning, but Tindharia Road remains open. Authorities are currently focused on evacuating tourists from Mirik using the Tindharia route, planning to conclude the evacuation within three to four hours.
