The clash between Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ and Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ on Vijayadashami has seen the former struggling to make a mark. Despite a cast including Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf, the film has not resonated with audiences. Television star Surbhi Chandna’s strong reaction reflects this sentiment.
Chandna and her husband, Karan Sharma, attended a screening, where she candidly shared her opinion. During the intermission, she joked that the only positive aspect was the samosa. On her Instagram story, she expressed blame for being subjected to the film. As a climactic scene unfolded, Chandna called out, demanding the film be stopped immediately. Her husband echoed this sentiment by labeling the film a “new weapon of mass destruction” in Bollywood.
Financially, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has been far more successful, earning over 100 crores in India within two days, while ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ has not reached 15 crores. Surbhi Chandna, known for her work in shows like ‘Naagin,’ ‘Ishqbaaaz,’ and ‘Sherdil Shergill,’ also appeared in the film ‘Bobby Jasoos’ in 2014.
