Maruti Suzuki, a leading automobile manufacturer, achieved remarkable production results in September 2025. The company’s total production for the month reached an impressive 2,01,915 units, marking a significant 26% increase from the 1,59,743 units produced in September 2024. This surge in production was directly linked to the strong demand generated during the festive season and the need to fulfill numerous customer orders.
The compact car segment showed the most robust growth, with models such as the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, and Swift experiencing high demand. As a result, production in this segment reached 93,301 units, a substantial increase compared to the 68,413 units produced in September the previous year, demonstrating the ongoing popularity of hatchbacks and compact sedans.
SUVs and MUVs also contributed to the rise in production. Production of vehicles including the Brezza, Ertiga, and Fronx increased by 27%, reaching 79,496 units compared to 62,752 units in the same period last year.
Entry-level cars like the Alto and S-Presso saw a slight increase in production, with 12,318 units produced compared to 12,155 units the year before. Furthermore, the Eeco van production also increased, reaching 13,201 units, up from 11,702 units. The light commercial vehicle, Super Carry, performed well too, with a production of 3,599 units, exceeding the 3,034 units from September 2024.
An intriguing aspect was the absence of production for the premium sedan Ciaz during this period, in contrast to the 1,687 units produced in the previous year’s corresponding month.
Maruti Suzuki recently released its sales report showing total sales of 1,89,665 units in September 2025. Although overall sales were strong, domestic passenger vehicle sales experienced an 8% decline, reaching 1,32,820 units. The company explained that the decrease was due to adjustments in inventory management and preparations for the festive season.
