A tragic event has unfolded in Dhamtari, where a woman died by suicide due to the ongoing suspicion and lack of trust from her husband. This issue had created conflict between the couple for several years, culminating in the wife’s desperate act. The incident took place in the Baniyapara ward under the Kotwali police station’s jurisdiction. The couple, who originally came from Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, were working as laborers in the area. The deceased, Surekha Ahuja, and her husband were employed at a grocery store in the Jalamapur ward and lived in a rented house. They were married around ten years ago, but the last two years were marked by growing suspicion between them. Distrust and frequent disagreements had become commonplace, causing consistent stress. On Friday, Surekha ended her life by hanging herself using a chunari. The Kotwali police were informed and quickly reached the location, sending the body to the district hospital for a post-mortem. The police are now undertaking a complete investigation of the case.
