The atmosphere in Bihar is intensifying in anticipation of the upcoming assembly elections. To review the election preparations, the Chief Election Commissioner, accompanied by two election commissioners, will be visiting Bihar on October 4th and 5th. They will be meeting with the Chief Electoral Officer and other state officials to assess the readiness for the elections.
A meeting of the observers appointed by the Election Commission is scheduled for this Friday in Delhi. The meeting will include election observers, police, and other officials involved in the electoral process. It is customary for the Election Commission to announce election dates following a visit by a full member to a state. Therefore, the Bihar election announcement is expected to be made after October 5th.
The Election Commission has decided to deploy 470 officials, including 320 IAS and 60 IPS officers, as central observers for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. These observers will also be deployed for by-elections in 8 other states. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM) in Dwarka at 10 AM on Friday.
The Election Commission has also finalized the voter list after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. This final voter list includes 14 lakh new voters. Individuals can check their details in the voter list via a link provided on the commission’s website. For details about the voter list, visit https://voters.eci.gov.in/.
