Northamptonshire County Cricket Club has announced the return of Yuzvendra Chahal, confirming his participation in the 2026 season. The club revealed that they have reached an agreement with the Indian spinner. After showcasing his skills in 2024 and 2025, Chahal is set to play for Northamptonshire in the One-Day Cup and County Championship in 2026. During his prior appearances in the County Championship, Chahal claimed 31 wickets. Northamptonshire believes that Chahal, who has 217 international wickets for India in his career, will greatly benefit the team next season. Chahal expressed his satisfaction at the opportunity to play for Northamptonshire again, calling it a second home and expressing his goal to assist the team in achieving success. Northamptonshire’s Head Coach, David Ripley, also shared his happiness at Chahal’s return. Chahal last played for India in August 2023. He is a well-known figure in the IPL. Chahal is recognised for his wicket-taking ability, with a record of 121 wickets in 72 ODIs and 96 wickets in 80 T20s in white-ball cricket.
