Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, transferring Rs 10,000 each to 75 lakh women beneficiaries. The total sum distributed reached Rs 7,500 crore. This Bihar government project aims to foster women’s self-reliance by supporting their self-employment aspirations. The scheme is providing financial aid to women to help them start their own business. One woman from each family will be receiving financial assistance. Further financial support of up to Rs 2 lakh may be provided in the future. The funds can be used for agriculture, animal care, handicrafts, tailoring, weaving, and other small businesses. The scheme will also involve training provided by community resource persons and the establishment of Gramin Haat-Bazaars to boost sales. The launch of the Yojana was marked with a statewide program involving over 1 crore women across different administrative levels.
