AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi discussed the hypothetical situation of being Prime Minister during the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He stated he isn’t one to entertain hypothetical scenarios and focuses on the reality and his limits. He explained that their aim isn’t just to be in power or to be ministers. However, as an Indian citizen, he believed the Pahalgam attack gave an opportunity to respond decisively to Pakistan.
He expressed his lack of understanding of why the operation was stopped, calling it a situation that felt like war. He questioned why the decisive action was halted when the entire country was prepared to respond. He contrasted this with the present political discussion of acquiring PoK.
He also mentioned that Operation Sindoor was paused, not terminated. Owaisi also criticized the Indian government’s conduct towards Pakistan during the Asia Cup cricket tournament. Additionally, he announced that the AIMIM would participate in the upcoming civic elections in Maharashtra.
Owaisi also touched upon the ‘I Love Muhammad’ controversy, stating that India is a country where every community takes pride in its religious identity. He stated that for Muslims, Prophet Muhammad is a very important figure. Article 25 grants freedom of religion. He stated that it is wrong if anyone is violent, and if someone expresses their beliefs about a religious figure, it is not incorrect. He added that India is a country that doesn’t have a single religion, however, the BJP and RSS think that only one religion is acceptable. The Constitution says that this country does not belong to any one religion.
