Decisions of the Council of Ministers

In the Cabinet meeting held today at Mahanadi Bhavan, Ministry, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, many important decisions were taken –
In the meeting of the Council of Ministers, an important decision was taken to obtain proposals from banks/financial institutions regarding providing short-term loans against salary through financial institutions to meet the sudden financial needs of government employees. The Finance Department has been authorized for further action in this regard. The format of the MOU to be executed with the bank/financial institution found eligible in the process by the Finance Department was also approved.
Taking a big decision in the interest of the disabled, the Council of Ministers decided to return the outstanding loan amount of Rs 24,50,05,457/- (Rupees twenty-four crore fifty lakh five thousand four hundred and fifty-seven only) of the National Disabled Persons Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC) in one go. The National Disabled Persons Finance and Development Corporation provides loans to the disabled persons of the state for self-employment and education at a minimum interest rate of 3 percent.
The Council of Ministers decided to give a one-time exemption in the provisions of the Recruitment and Promotion Rules-2019 of the School Education Department for direct recruitment to the posts of Special Educators. It is noteworthy that the Finance Department has allowed the Education Department to recruit 100 Special Educators in the state. Approving the relaxation of the Recruitment Rules-2019 of the Education Department, the Council of Ministers approved to conduct direct recruitment to the posts of Special Educators once on the basis of merit instead of the selection examination.
In the meeting of the Council of Ministers today, a warm farewell was given to Shri Amitabh Jain, an officer of the Indian Administrative Service of the 1989 batch, who is retiring from the post of Chief Secretary, and the newly appointed Chief Secretary Shri Vikas Sheel (Indian Administrative Service 1994 batch) was welcomed.
