At a joint press conference, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu voiced his support for US President Donald Trump’s peace plan aimed at resolving the conflict in Gaza. He said that the plan aligns with Israel’s objectives, including the return of hostages and the weakening of Hamas. Netanyahu highlighted the strength of the relationship between the two countries. He emphasized that their partnership enables the achievement of ambitious goals. He also acknowledged Trump’s role in making the region and the world safer. Netanyahu then laid out Israel’s plan, which includes the disarmament of Hamas and the establishment of a civilian administration in Gaza that excludes both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. Netanyahu outlined the conditions: if Hamas accepts the plan, withdrawal will be the first step, followed by the release of all hostages within three days. If Hamas rejects the proposal, Israel will independently ‘finish the job.’ He also proposed an international body to fully disarm Hamas.
