Vietnam is currently dealing with the aftermath of Typhoon Bualoi, which has led to one confirmed fatality, the disappearance of four people, and the evacuation of more than 28,000 residents. The evacuations were carried out in multiple locations, including Ninh Binh, Quang Ngai, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, and Quang Tri provinces. The Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention reported on the extensive evacuation efforts. A woman in Hue lost her life after being swept away by floodwaters, and her body has been recovered. Search operations are ongoing for the missing individuals. Eighty-six houses have been damaged. Air travel is affected, with numerous flight cancellations and delays at several airports. The typhoon’s eye was located off the coast and is expected to make landfall, bringing strong winds. The strongest winds are forecast to impact coastal areas from northern Quang Tri to Thanh Hoa from late Sunday night into Monday morning. Local authorities have taken proactive measures, closing tourist-related businesses and evacuating residents from hazardous coastal zones. Heavy rainfall is predicted for the coming days, increasing the likelihood of severe flooding and widespread disruption. Residents are advised to take precautions, including staying indoors, avoiding travel, and adhering to evacuation orders.
