In an important development, security forces in Bijapur district achieved a significant victory on September 25th, apprehending two Naxalites. The operation was carried out by a joint team consisting of DRG Bijapur, Basaguda and Bhairamgarh police stations, and Cobra 210. The arrested individuals carried a combined reward of ₹9 lakhs and were wanted for their involvement in various criminal activities within the Basaguda and Bhairamgarh police station areas.
Among those arrested was Mallesh Kunjam, a 40-year-old DVCM of the Jagargunda Area Committee, son of Boti alias Tokdu alias Nanda alias Hurra. Kunjam, a resident of Narsapur village, was carrying a reward of ₹8 lakhs.
Simultaneously, Anil Veko, the Janatana Sarkar President, was apprehended during a search operation. Veko, 32, a resident of Darmar village, was involved in multiple Maoist-related incidents and had a reward of ₹1 lakh. The arrested Naxalites were subsequently handed over to the appropriate authorities for legal processing and judicial remand before the court.
