In a unique medical case, a woman in Purnia, Bihar, gave birth to four daughters naturally. The delivery, handled by a team of doctors at the Baisi Primary Health Center, was a success. The mother, BB Haseerun, 24, already had four children, bringing her total number of children to eight.
Premature labor prompted the assistance of an ASHA worker to bring Haseerun to the Baisi Primary Health Center. The medical team noted that the ultrasound report indicated three babies, which was surprising, given that triplets are rare. The nursing team prepared the mother mentally for a normal delivery. The constant counseling helped to alleviate the mother’s anxiety.
During the delivery, the first three daughters were delivered. Subsequently, the medical team discovered that there was a fourth baby. Despite the ultrasound report, the team ensured the safe delivery of the fourth daughter.
Following the delivery, both the mother and the four daughters were examined and confirmed to be in good health. The news of the birth drew a crowd to the hospital. The husband, Kaiser Alam, noted his wife’s age and thanked the doctors and nurses.
The mother and the newborns have been transferred to Purnia Medical College for additional medical care. Medical professionals have noted that though cases of multiple births occur, the natural delivery of four healthy babies is rare. This incident symbolizes hope and fortitude.
