The Indian automotive market is undergoing positive changes for customers following the implementation of GST 2.0. Price cuts on vehicles have been announced by car manufacturers, with the mid-size SUV segment experiencing the most noticeable effects. This has made these vehicles more appealing to potential buyers.
The Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos have consistently been strong competitors within the SUV segment. Following the GST rate reductions, the Seltos has established a competitive advantage. While the Creta offers savings of up to approximately Rs 72,145, the Kia Seltos has experienced a significant price reduction of up to Rs 75,371. Consequently, the Seltos has become more affordable and is positioned as a direct competitor to the Creta. Price cuts are applicable for the 1.5L Normal Petrol-Manual variant.
As per the new price list released by the company, the ex-showroom prices of the Kia Seltos now start from Rs 10.79 lakh. All variants see direct savings ranging from Rs 39,624 to Rs 75,371.
The base variant (HTE) benefits from a reduction of around Rs 40,000.
Mid-spec variants (HTX, GTX) see benefits up to Rs 50,000.
Top-spec variants (X Line) have the most substantial cuts, giving customers savings over Rs 75,000. This applies to the 1.5L Normal Petrol-Auto (CVT) variant.
This change holds considerable significance for middle-class consumers seeking to purchase SUVs. The availability of the same robust features and stylish design at a lower cost is attracting increased attention. Particularly, customers who were considering both the Creta and Seltos may find their preference shifting towards the Seltos, as it provides more value at a reduced price point.
