Akshay Kumar, a celebrated actor, has made a name for himself in Bollywood through hard work and dedication. His path to stardom was not typical, as he initially explored different career avenues before entering the world of acting. He worked as a martial arts instructor and a photographer’s assistant. In an interview, Kumar shared that Govinda, a well-known actor, provided him with the inspiration to try acting. The story was shared during an interview on ‘The Anupam Kher Show.’
During his time working at a photography studio, Kumar encountered many famous actors. Govinda recognized Kumar’s potential and suggested he become an actor. Govinda said, “You look good, why don’t you become a hero?” It was this remark that encouraged Kumar to consider a different career path and begin seeking opportunities in the film industry.
Kumar’s acting debut was in 1987, with a minor role in ‘Aaj.’ He then starred in his first leading role in ‘Saugandh’ in 1991, followed by ‘Dancer’, though both films did not perform well. However, his big break came in 1992 with ‘Khiladi,’ which became a major hit and earned him the ‘Khiladi’ title. Since then, he has starred in several successful films, solidifying his status as one of Bollywood’s most successful and highest-paid actors.
