The premiere of ‘Homebound’, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, was a glittering event, drawing the Hindi film fraternity together. The film, featuring Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa, is India’s official entry to the 2026 Oscars, making the premiere even more special.
Janhvi Kapoor made a poignant tribute to her late mother, Sridevi, by wearing one of her sarees. This saree was previously worn by Sridevi at Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding.
Adding to the evening’s highlights, former couple Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora shared a warm embrace, which was noted by many.
Also present was YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, who made a rare public appearance at the event.
‘Homebound’ has been selected as India’s official submission for the Oscars 2026, a noteworthy achievement prior to its Indian release. The film had already premiered at the 78th Cannes Film Festival and was screened at both the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival and the Melbourne International Film Festival.
Karan Johar shared that the team was deeply honored and humbled by the selection. Neeraj Ghaywan said that being chosen was both humbling and a matter of pride.
‘Homebound’ will be released in India on September 26, 2025, and stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor.
