A major traffic accident occurred in Chhatarmandu, Ramgarh, on Monday. A passenger bus and a coal-carrying truck collided, resulting in three fatalities. The collision also left approximately 24 people injured. The injured include six in critical condition. Among the deceased are truck driver Manish Kumar from Bengavari Keredari, Hazaribag, and Vilaso Devi from Jenamod, Bokaro. After receiving initial treatment, a number of the injured were transferred from Sadar Hospital to RIMS for more advanced care. Upon receiving the news, Ramgarh police quickly arrived on the scene and began rescue operations.
Reports indicate that the bus, Sri Gokul (JH 10 BM 8219), traveling from Dhanbad to Ramgarh, attempted to overtake another vehicle. This maneuver resulted in a head-on collision with a coal-laden truck (JH 13 C 0232), causing the deaths of the truck driver and a female passenger at the scene.
The injured were transported to Sadar Hospital with the help of local residents. Six critically injured people were later referred to RIMS by doctors. Several other injured passengers were treated at Sadar Hospital. The impact of the collision was severe, heavily damaging the front of both vehicles.
An advocate from Ramgarh Bar Association, resident of Gola, Arvind Kumar Pathak, was also a passenger on the bus. He succumbed to his injuries at RIMS.
