The dispute arising from RJD leader Sanjay Yadav’s post hasn’t subsided; instead, it has resulted in online backlash aimed at Rohini Acharya, sister of Tejashwi Yadav. Following the initial post’s removal, Acharya also privatized her X account. On Sunday, she utilized the platform to address her critics and adversaries.
Acharya posted around 2:48 PM on Sunday, dismissing the various rumors and misrepresentations spread by trolls, agitators, and those with intentions to usurp the party. She stated that these were aimed at damaging her image.
She clarified that she has no political ambitions, nor has she ever had any, nor will she have any in the future. She doesn’t want to be an assembly candidate nor does she want anyone else to become one. She has no desire for a Rajya Sabha membership, nor does she have any competition with any member of her family. Moreover, she has no desire for any position in the party or in any future government. For her, her self-respect, her respect and dedication to her parents, and the reputation of her family are of the utmost importance.
On Saturday, Acharya altered her X handle, unfollowing Tejashwi Yadav and approximately 67 RJD figures and others. She also changed her profile picture. Her previous profile picture featured her with Lalu, Rabri, and Tejashwi Yadav. The current profile picture shows Acharya alone. This is seen as a sign that internal conflicts within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) are escalating because of the matter with Sanjay Yadav.
The initial controversy emerged from a post on X before the announcement of the Bihar assembly elections. On September 18, 2025, Rohini Acharya’s post exposed internal conflicts within the RJD. The post primarily targeted Sanjay Yadav, a close aide of Tejashwi Yadav, whom she labeled as a ‘substandard’ individual. Although she deleted the post later, the controversy created unrest within the party.
