The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (UP ATS) arrested three individuals in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, on charges of fundraising and transferring money to Palestine. The individuals arrested are Mohammad Ayan Mohammad Hussain (22), Abu Sufiyan Tajammul Ansari (22), and Zaid Notiyar Abdul Kadir (22). The arrests were made in relation to financial activities linked to Palestine.
Authorities believe that the suspects collected around 3 lakh rupees for Palestinians and subsequently transferred these funds abroad using contacts within Uttar Pradesh, and without proper authorization. The arrests were the result of a joint operation involving the UP ATS and local police authorities in Bhiwandi. The suspects were questioned at the Shanti Nagar police station and subsequently sent to Uttar Pradesh for further investigation. Senior officials from the Nizampura police station supervised the operation. The case initiated on August 27, 2025, following an investigation by the UP ATS under CR number 10/2025. This investigation applied the relevant provisions of anti-terrorism and foreign funding laws. Investigators indicated that the operation targeted an illicit financial network allegedly involved in promoting terrorism overseas.
