The situation within Lalu Yadav’s family is marked by visible strain, with a developing political battle just before the assembly elections. With Tejashwi Yadav engaged in the Bihar Adhikar Yatra, discussions and speculations about the RJD are circulating throughout Bihar. Rohini Acharya’s social media activity on Facebook and X has ignited questions regarding her position within the RJD.
The situation’s genesis can be traced to Rohini’s sharing of a Facebook post that criticized Sanjay Yadav, a close ally of Tejashwi Yadav and a Rajya Sabha MP. This was related to his seat on the bus used by Tejashwi during his Bihar Adhikar Yatra. Rohini’s action led to a backlash against Sanjay Yadav from some within the RJD. Afterward, Rohini shared another post with pictures of party leaders sitting in the same seats.
This has prompted discussions on the possibility of renewed conflict inside the Lalu family, and whether Rohini might leave the party before the elections.
Rohini has since used her social media to express her feelings. Her tweet illustrates that there might be problems between the party and the family. Rohini tweeted, “I have fulfilled my duty as a daughter and sister. And I will continue to do so. I have no desire for any position. Nor do I have any political ambition. My self-respect is paramount to me.”
The question then becomes: what has caused Rohini’s hurt? Why is she so upset? Before this, she had also tweeted a video, with this message: “They have the spirit to make the biggest sacrifices, putting their lives on the line, fearlessness-frankness-self-respect flows in their blood.”
Tej Pratap Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav’s elder brother, is also unhappy with Sanjay Yadav. Tej Pratap has referred to him as a ‘traitor.’ These current statements, occurring close to the election, make it clear that this issue is both familial and political, potentially impacting the party’s unity.
