The political landscape of Nepal was shaken by violent protests, culminating in an attack on the parliament. Amidst the turmoil, KP Sharma Oli was compelled to resign as Prime Minister. His subsequent movements sparked public interest. He initially found refuge with the army and remained under their protection for nine days before relocating to a private residence. Sushila Karki succeeded him as the new Prime Minister. The army barracks where Oli stayed were situated in the Shivapuri forest area, north of Kathmandu. Details of his current location remain undisclosed. However, reports suggest he is now residing in a private house in the Gundoo area of Bhaktapur district, approximately 15 kilometers east of Kathmandu.
Oli’s resignation was a direct consequence of the protests on September 9. His residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur, was also targeted and set on fire. When the unrest turned violent, Oli was evacuated from the PM’s official residence via an army helicopter. In addition to Oli, former Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Jhalanath Khanal, and Madhav Kumar Nepal, along with other senior political figures, were temporarily provided with army protection.
