Tragedy struck Palghar district in Maharashtra on Thursday following a powerful explosion at a chemical company. The incident occurred at Limbani Salt Industries in JP Udyognagar, during a chemical processing operation. One worker lost their life, and four others sustained serious injuries. Emergency responders and rescue teams were quickly deployed to the site to provide assistance. The injured workers were taken to Dhawale Hospital for immediate medical attention. According to officials, the explosion occurred at the Limbani Salt Industries on Manor Road, Palghar. The explosion took place while a chemical process was in progress. Five individuals were involved in the incident. Deepak (38), a resident of Shiroli, was killed in the blast. Suresh Kom (55) suffered back burns, and Dinesh Gadag (40) sustained serious facial injuries; both are reported in critical condition. Laxman Mandal (60) and Santosh Tare (51) sustained minor injuries. The explosion’s force caused widespread panic in the surrounding areas. Police and fire brigade teams are investigating the cause of the explosion. Preliminary findings suggest a possible failure to adhere to safety protocols during the chemical reaction. Local residents and worker organizations have expressed concerns about the safety measures implemented by the company. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
