Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has announced his endorsement of independent candidates in the Bihar Assembly elections who demonstrate a commitment to preventing cow slaughter. This decision is part of an effort to introduce ‘Sanatani’ politics into the election landscape, with the ‘Gau Raksha Sankalp Yatra’ taking place in Purnia. The Shankaracharya stated that no political party has shown a commitment to act against cow slaughter over the past several decades. He said that they will vote for ‘Gau Raksha’ and Sanatan Dharma. He will support independent candidates in the upcoming state elections, but the names will not be disclosed. He plans to field candidates in all 243 seats. He criticized political parties for their inaction regarding the increasing abuse of cows and urged voters to support candidates who consider cow slaughter a sin and are dedicated to the protection of cows. He also expressed concern over the rising beef exports, even under the current government, calling on the central government to take action.
