Following its success in theaters, the animated film ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ is scheduled to be released on the OTT platform, Netflix. The movie was a surprise hit, performing well at the box office without the draw of big-name actors.
‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ will be available on Netflix starting September 19, 2025. The film will be accessible in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Netflix India announced the OTT release, sharing the message: “Bhakti shakti ka roop legi, Aa raha hai Mahavatar Narsimha. Watch Mahavatar Narsimha, out 19 September, 12:30 PM, on Netflix.”
The voice cast includes Aditya Raj Sharma as Hiranyakashipu, Haripriya Matta as Prahlad, and Harjeet Walia as Lord Narsimha, alongside Sanket Jaiswal, Priyanka Bhandari, Vasundhra Bose, Sanchit Wartak, Saanwari Yagnik, Dinesh Varma, Uplaksh Kochhar, Akshay Joshi, Dixoan Shah, Shahid Zafar, Rakesh Soni, Ayushi Anand, and Anshul Sharma.
The story of ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ tells of the demon Hiranyakashyap, who declares himself a god, while his son Prahlad remains dedicated to Lord Vishnu. In order to protect Prahlad and defeat Hiranyakashyap, Lord Vishnu takes the form of Narsimha. The film is produced by Kleem Productions and presented by Hombale Films, which has produced prominent Kannada films like ‘KGF Chapter 1’, ‘KGF Chapter 2’, ‘Salaar’, and ‘Kantara’.
The makers are planning the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe, which will consist of several films based on the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. The movie is directed by Ashwin Kumar and written by Jayapurna Das. The soundtrack and background score were composed by Sam C. S., with Ajay Verma and Ashwin Kumar handling the editing.
