Phil Salt’s powerful batting was the key, as his aggressive play was difficult for the Irish bowlers to contain.
The three-match T20 series began on September 17th. With Harry Brook resting, young all-rounder Jacob Bethell took the captaincy, becoming the youngest player to lead the English side in international cricket at 21 years and 329 days old. Bethell’s captaincy debut was a success.
