The defending world champion and two-time Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra confidently progressed to the men’s javelin throw final at the World Championships. Chopra made an immediate impact, surpassing the automatic qualification standard of 84.50 meters on his very first attempt. His impressive throw of 84.85 meters in Group A secured his place in the final round.
Chopra, the first competitor to throw, ensured his position in the final with just one attempt. He decided against further throws. Athletes who achieve or exceed the 84.50m mark, or place among the top 12 performers, are eligible to compete in the final, scheduled for Thursday.
