Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – To the Hashira Training, the Japanese anime film released on September 12, has taken the Indian box office by storm, amassing a remarkable Rs 47.70 crore net in its first five days. This achievement establishes it as the highest-grossing non-Hollywood foreign film ever released in India. The film started with Rs 12.85 crore on its opening Friday, progressing to Rs 13.1 crore on Saturday and peaking at Rs 13.85 crore on Sunday. A significant drop was seen on Monday, with collections falling to Rs 3.5 crore. The Hindi version earned Rs 9.5 crore, and the English version earned Rs 8.65 crore during the initial five days, according to reports. On day five, the film collected approximately Rs 4.00 crore net in India across all languages. In just three days, the film surpassed the lifetime collections of previous anime successes such as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Suzume in India. Globally, the film has become the highest-grossing Japanese film in local currency, with over 69 billion yen, surpassing Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’s record of 54.5 billion yen. The Indian release is rated U/A 13+, signifying it is suitable for viewers above 13 years. The storyline of the Infinity Castle Arc picks up after the Hashira Training Arc, where Tanjiro trains with various Hashiras. The narrative also includes Muzan killing Kagaya Ubuyashiki and his wife, setting the stage for the upcoming events.
