The highly anticipated iPhone 17 Series and iPhone Air were unveiled at a recent Apple event. Pre-orders began on September 12th, with deliveries originally planned for September 19th. However, customers are now facing delays, with delivery times extending beyond the initial projections.
Retailers across India are experiencing supply shortages of the iPhone 17 Series and iPhone Air. These shortages are reportedly linked to the expansion of Apple’s retail network, which is affecting the availability of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models in particular.
The Apple website reflects these delivery delays. For instance, if an iPhone 17 with 256GB storage is ordered today, September 15th, the estimated delivery date is between September 27th and October 5th. The iPhone 17 Pro with 512GB storage has a similar delivery estimate.
Customers who pre-order the iPhone 17 Pro Max with 2TB storage can expect delivery between October 5th and October 11th. The base (Gold Rose) model of the iPhone 17 Air also has an estimated delivery window between September 27th and October 5th, for orders placed today. Note that these delivery timelines may vary depending on the chosen storage and color.
Production of the new iPhone series in India initially focuses on the base models. Production of the Pro and Pro Max models will be increased in the coming weeks.
A typical shipment of approximately 500 units includes roughly 50 units of the Pro and approximately 10 units of the Pro Max models. The 512GB and 1TB variants are also experiencing limited availability.
