Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Bihar’s Purnea district to lead a rally and unveil a series of development projects, representing an investment of ₹36,000 crore. The visit highlights the inauguration of a new airport terminal in North Bihar, enhancing the region’s connectivity. A key component of the visit is the introduction of the National Makhana Board, outlined in the Union Budget 2025, which is aimed at increasing Makhana production, adopting cutting-edge technology, optimizing processing, and boosting exports, thereby supporting Makhana farmers across the country.
In addition to these infrastructure and agricultural initiatives, the Prime Minister will attend Griha Pravesh ceremonies for over 40,000 PMAY beneficiaries and distribute ₹500 crore to women’s self-help groups as part of the DAY-NRLM program. Extensive security arrangements have been made, with a complete halt to vehicular movement on national and state highways for a full day, beginning from Sunday midnight.
