The Jivitputrika festival was celebrated in Khunti district on Sunday with traditional fervor and adherence to rituals. Mothers marked the occasion with a 24-hour waterless fast, offering prayers for the longevity and prosperity of their children. The Jivitputrika vrat was observed across several locations in the city, including Karra Road, Torpa Road, Pipratoli, Mishra Toli, Badaik Tola, and neighboring villages and areas, where holy peepal tree branches were set up for communal worship. Mothers gathered to participate in the prayer ceremonies, expressing their wishes for their children’s happiness and long lives. The atmosphere was filled with excitement. Collective worship was also held at peepal trees in various locales.
