A crucial decision has been made by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in the interest of journalists. The deadline for the health and accident group insurance scheme for communication representatives has been extended from September 22nd to September 27th. The scheme ensures that journalists will pay the same premium in the current financial year 2025-26 as they did in the previous financial year 2024-25.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav acknowledged the crucial role journalists play in society, and stated the government’s ongoing support. The government will manage the increased insurance premium, which represents an estimated additional expense of Rs 4.50 crore. This is to mitigate any financial impact on journalists.
The Chief Minister confirmed that journalists will continue to pay the existing premium amount each year, ensuring financial stability. The group insurance scheme, operated by the Public Relations Department, aims to offer enhanced benefits and increased accessibility for the benefit of journalists.
