London witnessed a large-scale protest on Saturday, with over 100,000 people participating in a rally named ‘Unite the Kingdom’. The demonstration, led by the anti-immigration figure Tommy Robinson, is considered a significant event for the right wing in Britain. The protest near Whitehall led to clashes with the police, resulting in injuries to 26 officers, with four in serious condition.
Alongside the ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march, a counter-protest, ‘Stand Up to Racism,’ was held in Whitehall with 5,000 participants. Police attempts to keep the groups apart resulted in clashes. Some protestors were arrested.
