During the opening of the three-day Dental Conference 2025 in Raipur, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressed the public, outlining plans to improve public health and develop Chhattisgarh. He underscored the administration’s dedication to enhancing the state’s healthcare infrastructure and providing health services to its 3 crore citizens, particularly in remote regions. Sai reviewed an exhibition of dental equipment and launched the annual souvenir of the Dental Association. He emphasized the government’s commitment to healthcare from the outset, noting the approval of five new medical colleges and the establishment of institutions for physiotherapy, nursing, and mother-child care. His vision includes a healthy and flourishing Chhattisgarh. He pointed out that the number of medical colleges has increased from one in 2000 to 15 today. The Ayushman Bharat Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana are providing free treatment, while affordable generic medicines are benefiting the public. The Chief Minister discussed the rising cases of oral cancer linked to tobacco use, emphasizing the key role dentists play in improving oral health. He recalled his earlier efforts to establish an AIIMS in Chhattisgarh. The ‘Chhattisgarh Vision 2047’ document outlines the government’s development goals, and 10 missions have been created to advance the state. He also discussed the goal of increasing the state’s GSDP to 75 lakh crore by 2047. He highlighted the importance of Chhattisgarh’s rich resources and the hard work of its farmers and citizens. He concluded by emphasizing the crucial role of dentists in oral health, expressing his belief that the conference will lead to fruitful discussions on dental diseases and their treatments. The recent GST reforms, which have streamlined tax slabs, were also mentioned, as a positive step toward economic growth.
