The weather department forecasts heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in several areas over the coming days. A yellow alert has been issued for numerous districts, including Raipur, Bilaspur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Jashpur, Koriya, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Surajpur, Sarguja, Korba, Balrampur, Raigarh, Jashpur, Bijapur, and Dantewada. An orange alert has been issued for Rajnandgaon, Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, and Mungeli, with predictions of heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds. The state has received an average of 994 mm of rainfall this monsoon season. Balrampur has recorded the highest rainfall, with 1344.5 mm, while Bemetara has received the lowest amount, at 472 mm. The monsoon trough extends from Sri Ganganagar to the Bay of Bengal and a cyclonic circulation over Odisha and North Coastal Andhra Pradesh are influencing the weather, creating the conditions for increased rainfall.
