Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Singh Mann, has been overseeing the state’s response to the devastating floods, even while receiving medical care. He conducted a video call with Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh, recognizing his contributions to the ongoing relief initiatives.
Mann also expressed his gratitude to Preetpal Singh Hanspal of Hanspal Traders, highlighting their pivotal role in rescuing individuals and animals trapped by the floods. Hanspal Traders facilitated the construction of over 150 rescue boats.
CM Mann further emphasized that Punjabis have displayed their resilience, compassion, and unity during this crisis. The government stands with those offering aid and saving lives. This support is not simply administrative but also reflects an emotional connection with the people. Consequently, Punjabis feel assured knowing they have the support of the government and their community.
The Chief Minister was admitted to the hospital on September 5th. Following an improvement in his condition, he led a cabinet meeting remotely. The meeting had been rescheduled due to his health. He also could not accompany CM Arvind Kejriwal on a tour of the flood-affected regions.
