Following the SA20 auction in Johannesburg, Sunrisers Eastern Cape has announced its new captain for the upcoming season. The team, owned by Kavya Maran, has selected 25-year-old Tristan Stubbs as the captain. Stubbs, known for his explosive batting and excellent wicketkeeping, has played a vital role for the Sunrisers. He has scored 723 runs in SA20 with an impressive strike rate of 140.11. Stubbs played many match-winning innings for the Sunrisers in the last 3 seasons. Before the auction, Sunrisers Eastern Cape retained Tristan Stubbs and pre-signed Jonny Bairstow.
