Prime Minister Narendra Modi is traveling to Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to examine the consequences of the recent floods and landslides. The visit aims to provide a comprehensive review of the damage and offer support to those impacted. Both states have been severely affected by the extreme weather. Himachal Pradesh has been impacted by landslides and cloudbursts, which have led to substantial disruption and infrastructure damage. Punjab is currently facing substantial flooding because of persistent monsoon rainfall. Earlier on the day, PM Modi participated in the 15th Vice Presidential election, along with other prominent leaders. The election features a contest between NDA’s CP Radhakrishnan and the joint opposition’s B Sudershan Reddy, with the counting of votes scheduled for the evening.
