Apple is gearing up for its annual product launch event, slated for September 9th. The event will be a showcase for the next generation of iPhones, updated smartwatches, and an assortment of accessories. This product rollout is designed to help Apple stay ahead of competition from companies such as Samsung, Google, Huawei, and Xiaomi. Apple is relying on hardware innovation to retain its customer base, especially since its iOS 26 operating system doesn’t have major AI upgrades.
During the event, Apple will unveil four new iPhone models. The iPhone Air is anticipated with significant interest. It is rumored to be considerably thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro. While this design change might compromise battery life, a new battery case could address this issue. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to include the A19 processor, a 6.6-inch screen, a USB-C port, ProMotion technology, and exclusively eSIM support. The phone will also use Appleās internal Wi-Fi chip and C1 modem. The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max may use an aluminum frame instead of titanium, to improve heat management and reduce weight. The standard iPhone 17 will keep the same design but will feature a larger 6.3-inch screen. Additional upgrades include a new chip, a ProMotion display for the non-Pro model, and Qualcomm modems. New accessories, such as upgraded cases and a cross-body strap, are also likely to be introduced.
The Apple Watch lineup will also see major updates. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 will include a larger screen, the new S11 chip, 5G Redcap, and satellite communication features. The Apple Watch SE will get a faster chip and a new display. Health upgrades, like hypertension detection, are in development, and a paid Health+ service is planned. The AirPods Pro 3 are expected to come with a heart rate monitor, a smaller charging case, and live translation features.
